Pedodontist Day & Founder’s Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru, under the inspiring theme “Interprofessional Collaboration for Healthy Smiles

This year’s observance emphasized the vital role of teamwork between pediatric dentists, pediatricians, educators and community partners in transforming the oral health landscape for children

As part of the celebrations, the department conducted a month-long series of outreach activities across JSS Baljagat School, Mother’s Touch Play Home, Abhyudaya Public School and JSS School, Suttur. Children actively participated in oral health education modules, activity-based learning sessions, drawing and essay competitions, and interactive demonstrations

A guided dental tour of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry was organized to help young children alleviate dental anxiety and understand healthy and unhealthy food habits, along with the unique role pediatric dentists play in safeguarding children’s oral health. In alignment with the institution’s commitment to serving vulnerable communities, oral hygiene kits were distributed to children from two orphanages

The celebration concluded with a formal function graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Prashanth S. N., HOD, Pediatrics, and the Guests of Honour, Mrs. Usha P. and Mrs. Manjula H. G., who shared insightful perspectives on collaborative pediatric care
