
As a part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, under the banner of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), an orientation session on Cyber Safety: Preventive Measures and Cyber Hygiene was conducted for the first-year students of JSS Medical College on 24 November 2025 at Gallery 6, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER, from 9:45 AM to 11:45 AM. A total of 250 MBBS students and 200 B. Sc students attended the programme. The session was delivered by Dr. G. B. Aravind, Coordinator of Forensic Science and Associate Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, who highlighted essential concepts of cyber safety, responsible digital behaviour, safe device handling, password security, cyber threat awareness, and cyber hygiene practices relevant to both personal and academic environments. The programme was attended by Dr. Praveen Kulkarni, Vice Principal, JSS Medical College; Mr. S. R. Satish Chandra, Administrative Officer, JSS Medical College; Dr. Arun M., Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology; Dr. Smitha Rani, Associate Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine; along with all postgraduate students and PhD scholars of the department. In addition to the resource session, Mr. Satish Chandra and Dr. Arun M. addressed the students and shared their insights, emphasizing the importance of discipline, responsible online conduct, and awareness of cyber threats in the modern educational setting. The session received enthusiastic participation from all 450 students and served as an impactful and informative part of their orientation programme under the banner of JSS AHER.
