JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The University of Newcastle (UoN), New South Wales, Australia, to deepen collaboration in education, research, and innovation.

Signed on Oct 30, 2025 by Dr.Alexandr Voninski, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global), UoN, and Dr. S. P. Dhanabal, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, on behalf of Registrar Dr. B. Manjunatha, the MoU, enables joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, co-publications, curriculum development, and shared academic resources.

The partnership aligns with both universities’ global engagement strategies. Participants reaffirmed institutional commitment to strengthened linkages.

Dr. S. Janakiraman, Consul General, Consulate General of India, Sydney welcomed the collaboration and encouraged JSS AHER to explore opportunities in Australia.

This milestone advances JSS AHER’s internationalization agenda and expands transformative opportunities for students and faculty. The collaboration also anticipates expansion into academic areas of mutual interest in health and technology.

Prof.Dr.Thava Palanisami from the Global Innovative Center for Advanced Nanomaterials (GICAN), University of Newcastle, and Prof.Dr.K.Gowthamarajan from JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty facilitated the singing ceremony.

The Laureate Prof. Ajayan Vinu, Director, GICAN, University of Newcastle was thanked by JSS AHER officials for his welcome move & strong support towards this collaboration.
