
A Two-Day International Workshop organised by the Division of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, titled “Career Catalyst 2.0: Plan, Prepare and Prosper in Life Sciences” was held on 30th and 31st May 2025. The workshop was organized to educate, motivate and guide the participants of M.Sc., and Ph.D., level. Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, Vice Chancellor, inaugurating the workshop emphasized the power of planning and navigating the life sciences landscape, preparing for success, building skills and networks, prosperity through purpose, and making an impact. He highlighted the growing importance of interdisciplinary skills, scientific communication, and industry readiness. Mr. Ganesh Prasad U.G., the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Bioartha Labs Pvt Ltd., Bengaluru urged the participants to think rationally and plan well ahead for their career. He briefed on various opportunities and made a point that it all depends on an individual’s goal, dedication, discipline, determination and hard work. Dr. K.A. Raveesha, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, expressed that the initiative is a step forward in the institution’s commitment to holistic student development and readiness for global scientific challenges. He also stressed upon the importance of performance along with the plan and preparation, to prosper in career. Basically, the workshop was designed to bridge the gap between academic training and professional success by equipping participants with essential tools for career planning, effective preparation for competitive opportunities, and strategies to thrive in diverse scientific careers including research, academia, and industry. The key highlights of this workshop were career exploration and mapping, industry insights, skill development, networking strategies, personal branding, resume building, interview preparedness, and insights into opportunities, fellowships and higher education abroad.
