
“Yogas Chitta Vritti Nirodha” - Patanjali - The International Day of Yoga is a day in recognition of Yoga that is celebrated around the world annually on 21 June following its adoption by the United Nations in 2014. As Yoga exercises have shown significant benefits for physical and mental well-being, it was considered important by the UN to globally promote this wellness practice, which originated in ancient India. The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with the theme: 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health.' From 'Me' to 'We,' yoga is shaping a healthier, more harmonious planet. NSS wing JSSMC along with the Department of Yoga celebrated Yoga Sangam on 11th International Yoga Day at JSSMC auditorium on 21st June 2025. The program was graced by Dr.Narayanappa D, Principal, Dr.Praveen Kulkarni, Vice Principal, Mr.Satish Chandra, Administrative Officer, Ms.Shilpa, Assistant Administrative Officer, JSSMC. Ms.Jahnavi V.Madhu and the team from the Department of Yoga conducted the Yoga session between 7 am to 8 am. More than 300 volunteers took active participation in the event including Preclinical HODs, teaching and non teaching staff. The event was coordinated by Dr Manu G, NSS Program Officer, Mr Manjunath and Mr Venkatesha, NSS Assistant Program Officers, Dr.Shivaprakash, Associate Professor of Anatomy and Physical Cultural Director Mr.Lokeshappa.
