
The department of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery, JSS Medical College and Hospital successfully organised a drawing competition in connection with world hearing day 2025 and to celebrate the completion of 100 cochlear implants. Dr.Madhu C.P., Medical Superintendent, JSS Hospital was the Chief Guest for the event. The event was also graced by Dr.Anil Harugop, State President, Association of Otolaryngologists of India, Karnataka, Dr.Rajendra Metgudmath, Vice President, Association of Otolaryngologists of India, Karnataka, Mr.Bhagavan, Chief Finance Officer, JSS Hospital, Dr.Bharathi M.B., Professor and Head, Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery, JSS Hospital, Ms.Sushmitha, Representative, Cochlear Medi Device India Pvt. Ltd. The inauguration was followed by cake cutting, done by cochlear implantees. Dr.Bharathi M.B delivered a talk on the importance of bilateral cochlear implantation, early detection of hearing loss and treatment. Around 80 children participated in the competition among which 45 children were hearing aid and cochlear implants users. The event was judged by Dr.Varsha, department of Medicine, Mrs.Radha, Artist, Dr.Ashwini P., Department of Dermatology and Dr.Anusha Raj, Paediatric Neurologist. The winners were selected and were awarded according to their categories. Dr.Archana, Professor and Head, Department of Anaesthesia was felicitated during the programme. Dr.Madhu C.P., Medical Superintendent, JSS Hospital, applauded the efforts of the department of ENT for completing 100 cochlear implants. Faculty and postgraduates of the department of ENT and parents of the participants were also present at the event.
