Department of Anatomy, JSS Medical College offered Value added course on “Basic principles of Medical Anthropometry” with the objective that accurately measuring various body dimensions, understanding and interpreting anthropometric data to assess overall health. It was conducted from 3rd March 2025 to 14th March 2025 in a hybrid mode.. Students from various disciplines MBBS, MSc medical sciences, BDS and MD post graduates had registered for the course. Course coordinators were Dr Vidya CS, Dr Uma Shivanal and Dr Shwetha K. The resource faculties included Dr Vidya CS, Dr Najma Mobin, Dr Hemamalini, Dr Shivaprakash , Dr Pushpa NB, Dr Vinutha SP, Dr Rashmi C Goshi, Dr Poonam DN, Dr Uma Shivanal and Dr Shwetha K. Pretest and post tests were conducted at the beginning and at the end of the course. The valedictory function was arranged on 24th March 2025. The program was presided by Dr Vishal Kumar Gupta Dean (Academics )JSSAHER, Dr Narayappa D Principal JSS Medical College was the Chief Guest. Dr Praveen Kulkarni Vice Principal (Paraclinical)and Sri S R Sathish Chandra Administrative officer graced the occasion. Welcome address was delivered by Dr Vidya CS Professor and Head Department of Anatomy, brief report about the course was delivered by Dr Uma Shivanal, Dr Narayappa D, Principal JSSMC appreciated the efforts, idea of bringing out this topic and enhanced the importance of Value added course. Dr Vishal Kumar Gupta Dean Academics JSSAHER delivered the presidential address, congratulated the department faculties for the effort in bringing up this course and coordinating. He encouraged the students to take up such courses, utilize the resources in enhancing the knowledge and inspired the department to conduct more such courses. Course completion certificates were distributed among resource persons and participants by the respected dignitaries. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr.Shwetha k by thanking everyone.
