The students and faculty from School of Public Health visited the JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled, Mysuru, on 3rd January, 2025. The visit highlighted the institution's commitment to empowering students with disabilities through specialized education and training. The Principal elaborated on the institution’s vision of fostering inclusivity and skill development, its history, infrastructure, and specialized teaching methodologies, including facilities like Braille systems and specialized seating supports. The campus also includes a primary and dental health center, ensuring essential healthcare services for students. The students also had an opportunity to interact with the students and staff of the institution and observe the classes and teaching methodologies. The key takeaways from the visit provided detailed insights on the institution’s structure and operations, the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in education, workplaces, and society, underscoring the need for greater awareness and support systems.
