On November 16, 2024, the Department of Pharmaceutics organized an engaging guest lecture on “Recent Advances in Drug Delivery Systems” at 11:30 AM. The session featured Dr. Geetha's as the esteemed speaker, who delivered an insightful presentation exploring the developments in drug delivery technologies and provided a comprehensive overview of Conventional DDS, Controlled DDS, and Novel DDS. The recent advancements in release systems such as Diffucaps (once-daily dosage forms), Liquitime, oral thin films, Sloumer, Duo Caps, and gluing pills. Her presentation also highlighted a nano-delivery systems, including liposomes, dendrimers, micellar nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, nanocapsules, nanospheres, nanoshells, solid lipid nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, nanosuspensions, and microemulsions. She discussed their evolving role in enhancing drug solubility, targeted delivery, and therapeutic efficacy.
