The School of Public Health, JSS Medical College hosted an engaging guest lecture titled “Mastering the Art of Public Speaking.” The event took place on November 5, 2024, from 12:00 pm. to 1:30 pm, and featured Mr. Kishore Rachaiah, the founder of mPower talk, as the distinguished speaker. Dr. Vidya C.S., Head of the Department and Professor in the Department of Anatomy, played a key role in coordinating and facilitating the event, helping to bring the esteemed speaker to the School of Public Health. During the session, Mr. Rachaiah shared his expertise on effective public speaking, emphasizing techniques for building confidence, knowing and connecting with audiences. He also provided valuable insights into overcoming the fear of public speaking, using body language effectively, and employing storytelling to enhance message delivery and making the event both insightful and interactive. The session was well-attended by eighty students, faculty members of School of Public Health and Department of Anatomy, interested in honing their communication abilities, underscoring the importance of strong public speaking skills in professional and personal growth. Mr. Rachaiah’s talk was particularly relevant for our students pursuing careers in public health, where effective communication plays a vital role in community outreach and education.
