Cadaveric Oath ceremony for the new batch of MBBS students 2024-25

Department of Anatomy conducted the Cadaveric Oath taking Ceremony for I year MBBS 2024-25 batch on 04-11-2024 in two sessions. The ceremony started with immense blessings from His Holiness Mahaswamiji, it was graced by Dr.T.C.Ganesh Babu (Head of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs, Centre for Applications & Research in India, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Bangalore), Dr.H.Basavana Gowdappa Principal, Dr.Praveen Kulkarni, Vice-Principal (Para Clinical), Sri S.R.Satish Chandra, Administrative Officer, Dr.Vidya C.S., Professor and Head of the Department, Dr.Pushpalatha K., Professor, Mr.Srinivas (Ambulance Driver) and other teaching faculties of the department. Dr.Vidya C.S., Professor and Head of the Department delivered the welcome address and spoke about the importance of AETCOM module – Cadaver as our first teacher and silent mentor. The cadaveric oath was administered by Dr.Shivaprakash S. in the morning session and Dr.Pushpa N.B. in the afternoon session. Dr.H.Basavana Gowdappa emphasised on the importance of indulging actively in the dissection classes and explained its importance not only as a subject in the 1st year of MBBS, but also its role in the career of a medical student throughout their professional journey. Dr.Deepa Bhat, Professor introduced the Chief guest to the gathering in the morning session and Dr.Vinutha S.P. in the afternoon session. Dr.Ganesh Babu, himself being an alumnus of JSS Medical College, shared his nostalgia of partaking in dissection as a medical student himself through his journey till date and mentioned the significance of its role in today’s ever so changing modern world of artificial intelligence. Dignitaries felicitated Chief Guest, Dr.Ganesh Babu, by Dr.Praveen Kulkarni, followed by a felicitation to Mr.Srinivas, Ambulance driver of JSS Medical College body donation program by Sri Sathish Chandra sir. Dr.Praveen Kulkarni, Vice-Principal (Para Clinical), JSS Medical College, addressed the students, by sharing his experience of dissection and stressed the importance and privileges of having given the opportunity for students to learn a lot and gain from this. In addition, sir also shed light on the roles and responsibilities of medical students and encouraged them to utilize these resources to the maximum. Sri Sathish Chandra, Administrative Officer, also encouraged the students to learn and utilize the immense knowledge that is available via the dissection. Dr.Shwetha K., Senior Resident concluded the program by thanking all the dignitaries, faculties and students for making the event successful.
