The department of ENT successfully organized 6th Temporal bone mastery workshop and precision otology – Live otology surgical workshop between 27th and 29th September 2024. This academic festival included hands on training of temporal bone dissection and live surgeries. Eminent ENT surgeon Dr.Manoj C.P., MESIARC, Calicut, Dr.Deepak Haldipur, ENT Surgeon, Trustwell hospital Bangalore and Dr.Vinay Vijayendra, ENT consultant, Vijaya ENT centre, Bangalore were the invited guest faculties for the workshop. In-house faculties were Dr.Bharathi M.B., Dr.Babu A.R., Dr.Sandeep S and Dr.Sandhya D., ENT surgeons, post graduate ENT students from various parts of the state took part in the workshop. The workshop began with demonstration of various procedures of temporal bone dissection by in-house and guest faculties which continued for first two days followed by live surgical workshop on the last day. The inaugural function was held on 29th September in Operation theatre complex at JSS Hospital. Dr.Basavana Gowdappa H., Principal JSSMC and Dr.Madhu C.P., Medical Superintendent, JSS Hospital were the chief guests for the ceremony. Dr.Bharathi M.B., Professor and Head of the department, Department of ENT, Dr.Babu A.R., Associate Professor, Dr.Sandhya D., Assistant Professor were instrumental in organising the workshop. Others present at the workshop were Dr.Sandeep S., Dr.Shilpa C., Dr.Rakesh B.S., Dr.Thanzeem, Dr.Amrutha H.R., Dr.Swathi, Dr.Prahlad. The efforts of department of ENT, in organising such an event, which aimed at developing the right surgical skills were applauded by the delegates.
