Department of Anatomy & Department of Emergency Medicine conducted a Workshop on September, 19, 2024 “Ultrasound based Hands-on learning on live models and cadavers: Peripheral nerve blocks”. The workshop started with the immense blessing of His Holiness Mahaswamiji and lighting of the lamp by Administrative officer Mr. Sathish Chandra, Dr. Vidya CS Professor and head of Anatomy and Dr. Brindha Basavaraju Professor and head of Emergency Medicine and Dr. Udhya kumar kharge Associate Professor of BLDE Bijapur and President of KEPA. The presentation began with a brief introduction to the event by Dr. Madhu Srinivasan Rangan, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine. He provided an outline of ultrasound procedures for giving Peripheral nerve blocks. Dr. Nayan, Assistant Professor, JSS Medical College, gave an overview of bonus blocks; Dr. Priyanka VN, Assistant Professor, East Point Medical College, gave an overview of brachial plexus; Dr. Harith, Senior Resident, JSS Medical College, gave a lecture on lower nerve blocks; and Dr. Abhijith, Consultant, PRS Hospital, gave a lecture on truncal blocks. The Hands on Sonoanatomy on live modules were taken by Dr. Adharsh, Assistant Professor at JSS Medical College,Dr. Aishwarya, Dr. Priyanka, Dr. Nisarg and Dr. Prithvi shri. Brachial plexus, Lower limb Peripheral nerve, truncal nerve and Bonus nerve were demonstrated on Cadaver by 1st year Post graduate students of Department of Anatomy, JSS Medical college. The Ultrasound guided nerve blocks on cadaver were taken by Dr. Rachana, Dr. Nisarg, Dr. Nayan, Dr. Hareeth, Dr. Abhijith, Dr. Arpitha.
