The Graduates Reception for the BDS Batch of 2019 at JSS Dental College & Hospital was held on 24.9.2024. This event was organized to celebrate the achievements of the 95 dental graduates who completed their Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program

The event was graced with the sacred presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, infusing a spiritually uplifting ambiance into the proceedings. Dr. C. G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha presided over the ceremony. Uplifting the prestige of the occasion, Sri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Member of Parliament, honoured the event as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished individuals in attendance included Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, Dr. Sudeendra Bhat, Controller of Examinations, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research

The Graduates reception began with a heartfelt welcome address delivered by Dr. M.R. Dhakshaini. Principal. In her speech, she conveyed her deep sense of pride in the accomplishments of the graduands and highlighted the college's dedication to nurturing exceptional dental practitioners. Sri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the esteemed Chief Guest, imparted his invaluable wisdom concerning the ever-evolving realm of dental healthcare and the promising prospects awaiting the graduands. He expressed the importance of rendering dental service for the betterment of society. He also quoted the saying of Guru Basavanna with a Vachana where the importance of truth being the path for world of God’s, is emphasized, with the message to the students to be truthful and making efficient usage of time in their future endeavours to progress in the path of righteousness & service to society. Dr. B.Nandlal, Professor administered the Hippocratic Oath. This solemn pledge serves as a symbol of the graduates' unwavering dedication to maintaining the utmost ethical standards in their profession and serving humanity

Dr. Ann V Mavaley emerged as the overall topper of the Batch of 2019. In addition to the overall topper, the college also honoured awards for Dr. Angel Brijith Sunny, Dr. Feba Mariya, Dr. Sara Sultana, Dr. Ann Mavely, Dr. Sneha Jaison, Dr. P. Krithi, Dr. Khadeeja Shariff as subject toppers. The students were also awarded with certificates for completion of value-added courses in Aesthetic Dentistry, Clinical Endodontics, Comprehensive Training in Implant Dentistry and Dental Ergonomics

It not only celebrated the accomplishments of the graduands but also had research awards for faculty.

The SDG Compendium & the college magazine were released by the dignitaries. The event fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the alumni and highlighted the college's dedication to nurturing future generations of dental practitioners.

Faculty awards was also given on this occasion for Patent grant, Publication, Best teacher and Academic & Research Excellence. The program concluded with vote of thanks from Dr. H.P. Jaishankar.
