The School of Public Health hosted an orientation session for international scholars from the American Institute of Indian Studies on September 3, 2024. Dr. D M Shilpa and Dr. Divya K L, faculty members from the School of Public Health, were resource persons and presented talks on sexual harassment and health advice, respectively, to aid the scholars in learning and adjusting to Indian local conditions. The American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) offers the following services to American study abroad programs in India-support for research fellowships for scholars, instruction in Indian languages, publications about Indian culture, knowledge of Indian culture, other service learning programs, and promotion of understanding of India as well as collaboration and exchange between scholars in India, the U.S, and and other countries in South Asia. The program was also presided by Ms Poornima, faculty from University of Mysuru.
