The “Sadbhavana Diwas” was observed in JSS Medical College, on 20th August 2024 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was born on August 20, 1944, and served as the sixth Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1991. He became the youngest Indian prime minister at the age of 40. The event was witnessed and supported by the principal Dr. Basavana Gowdappa, vice-principals, Dr Suma M.N, and Dr Parveen Kulkarni, JSS Medical College, Mysuru and chief administrative officer of JSS Medical College Mr. Sathish Chandra. Mr. Sathish Chandra, administrative officer addressed the gathering by emphasising the importance of embracing diversity, respecting differences, and working together towards the common goal of nation-building. He mentioned that “Sadbhavana Diwas” holds immense significance in India; it serves as a reminder of Rajiv Gandhi’s commitment to fostering a sense of unity and harmony among people of diverse backgrounds, religions, and cultures. Later, the “Sadbhavana Diwas” oath was administered by an NSS volunteer during the event.
