On July 26, 2024, the Department of Periodontology hosted a detailed hands-on workshop on periodontal plastic surgery. This workshop aimed to provide participants with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in free gingival graft harvesting, recipient bed preparation, and coronally advanced flap techniques.

The event began with an inauguration led by Vice-Principal Dr. Jaishankar HP. Dr. Joann Pauline George, Professor at Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, presented an in-depth lecture on periodontal plastic surgeries, covering various soft tissue deficiencies and their respective treatments

Following the lecture, Dr. Pauline conducted a live demonstration, illustrating techniques for harvesting free gingival and connective tissue grafts and performing suturing on recipient sites. This was followed by a hands-on session, during which participants from JSS Dental College and Hospital, SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad, Malla Reddy Dental College for Women, Hyderabad, PNM Dental College, Bagalkote, and Krishnadevaraya Dental College, Bangalore applied and honed their skills in graft harvesting and placement.
