Faculty Talk on Behavior Change Strategies

The talk was intended to help individuals understand their behaviour and implement techniques to change it. These strategies typically aim to improve productivity, attain personal goals, or improve health. Self-monitoring involves tracking one's actions and educating oneself on the advantages and techniques of changing one's behaviour in order to boost motivation and self-efficacy. A nutritional counselling strategy that builds intrinsic motivation and resolves ambivalence to assist people in finding their reason to change. Creating precise plans, commonly presented as 'if-then' statements, that specify the where, when, and how to carry out a desired activity. Depending on the particular behaviour and situation, these strategies can be applied individually or in combination talk was given to the post graduate students by Dr Tokpam Reshma Chanu, Assistant Professor Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, JSS AHER, Mysuru during the Workshop on Nutrition education and counselling. The programme was held on 31st January 2024, at Padmashree Institute of Management and Sciences, Kommaghtta, Kengeri, Bangalore.
