As part of World Hypertension Day 2024 (Theme: Measure your blood pressure accurately, Control it, Live longer), The Department of Community Medicine, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER Mysuru, organized a health camp on May 18, 2024 at K.R.Mills subcentre under Hanchya PHC of Mysuru District, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The health camp aimed to provide essential medical services and promote a holistic approach to health, which included measuring height, weight, BMI, visual acuity, waist to hip ratio, blood pressure, haemoglobin, blood sugar

Dr. Shweta N Kurkuri, and Dr.Sunitha Singh, and postgraduates from the department of Community Medicine along with Dr.Shayari, Department of OBG, Dr.Charan, Department of General Medicine, Dr.Mounika and Dr.Anusha, Department of Paediatrics were part of the camp.

Dr.Ravindra, Medical Officer of Hanchya PHC inaugurated the rally for creating awareness about hypertension. First year MBBS students were present as part of Family Adoption Program and gave their active participation.

Approximately 120 people benefited from the health camp, 25 were found to be hypertensive, 23 were found to be diabetic, 9 were found to be anaemic. Iron and folic acid supplements were given for the anaemic patients. 12 were newly diagnosed as hypertensive, 14 were newly diagnosed as diabetic. They were referred to JSS Hospital & advised for further follow up.
