An academic visit was organized to the Institute of Excellence, University of Mysore for the First year (II Semester) MSc students studying Microbial Nanotechnology elective paper on 07th June 2024. The working mechanism of equipment & instruments used to characterize nanoparticles including electron microscopy (SEM), EDAX, DLS, FT IR, XRD and AFM were demonstrated. The facility managers explained in detail the handling, working principle and applications of the said high end equipment for understanding the physical, chemical and optical properties of nanoparticles. The demonstration was followed by Q&A session with the students and the technicians on the applications of these instruments in the field of Nanotechnology & Material Sciences.
