Dr. Brinda Suhas Godhi, Reader, Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry was invited as a Guest speaker for the Continuing Dental Education program by IDA, Mandya Branch on 7th July 2024 at Hotel Amaravati. , Mandya. The topic for the presentation was “ Pediatric Crowns for Primary Teeth -An Insight. This presentation highlighted transitioning from traditional materials, such as preformed stainless steel crowns, to aesthetic and biocompatible alternatives like zirconia, resin-based composites, and Bioflex crowns. It also focused on the importance of these advancements in repairing decayed or damaged teeth and their role in improving children's oral health and psychological well-being. General Dentists had sufficient knowledge about indications of SSCs, but their actual use in practice remained limited. The gap between expertise & application was addressed. To enhance a better understanding, of preformed crowns a video demonstration of the procedure was also displayed.
