A field visit to Urban Community Health Centre (UCHC) in Jayanagar, Mysuru was organized for second-semester students of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program on May 28, 2024. The visit aimed to provide practical insights into urban healthcare delivery system specifically focusing on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) services. Students toured various sections and units, including labour room, Antenatal and Post natal wards, and laboratory. They observed a range of health services, such as maternal and child health care, immunizations, family planning services and chronic disease management. The UCHC staff explained and discussed the services provided concerning RMNCH+A. Additionally, the visit included discussion on its community outreach programs and patient education initiatives. This hands-on experience enriched our students' understanding of urban public health operations and reinforced the importance of integrating community-based approaches in public health practice concerning RMNCH+A services.
