With the blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Sri Suttur Kshethra, Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, JSS Medical College and Hospital in association with Indian Rheumatology Association, IRA-Karnataka Chapter, API Mysore and IMA East Branch, Mysuru jointly organized a State level CME on Challenges in Rheumatic diseases on June 2nd2024 Sunday. Faculty from Bengaluru and Medical colleges from South Karnataka participated in the discussion on day to day rheumatological problems in the management of Arthritis, SLE and vasculitis and the challenges faced at the primary, secondary and tertiary care level. The usage and the complications associated with long term steroids in Rheumatological and non rheumatological conditions were highlighted upon. The program was inaugarated by Dr.Chandrashekara S-President Indian Rheumatology association, Dr Vineeta Shobha- President Karnataka Rheumatology association, Dr.Manthappa,Vice principal, JSSMC and IMA President, East Branch, with able guidance and support from Dr Basavanagowdappa Sir and Dr CP Madhu Sir alongwith admin of JSS AHER and JSS Hospital. Around 150 delegates attended the CME. Postgraduates from various Medical colleges of south Karnataka attended the CME. 10 postgraduates participated in PG case discussion. Dr Nilanjana dutta and Disha S, from JSSMC got first prize for best case presentation,Dr Spoorthy Gowda got 3rd prize. PG quiz was conducted for Medicine residents. BMCRI won first and second prize, HIMS Hasan won third prize. We would also like to thank PRO Office, AV Support and Housekeeping staff along with JSSH Canteen for taking care of the necessary arrangement.
