JSS Medical College commemorated World Health Day with a Health Camp dedicated to our Hostel Mess Workers The Department of Community Medicine, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER Mysuru organized a health camp on April 16, 2024, to mark 76th World Health Day (Theme: My Health, My Right) and promote regular health check-ups for its Hostel mess workers. The event was held at the Boys Hostel Mess block 1st floor, JSS Medical College, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The health camp aimed to provide comprehensive health assessments to hostel mess workers, which included measuring height, weight, visual acuity, BMI, Waist to hip ratio, body fat analyzer, blood pressure, Haemoglobin, blood sugar & amp; ECG. One to one Health education and health counselling was given to all the participants of the camp. Dr.Praveen Kulkarni, the Vice Principal (Para-Clinical) and Sri S.R.Sathish Chandra, the Administrative Officer, inaugurated the event. Dr.Praveen Kulkarni addressed the gathering, emphasizing the event’s significance in line with the theme, My Health, My Right, by mentioning the importance of regular health check-ups for every individual and the health of hostel mess workers. Sri S R Sathish Chandra appreciated the initiative and urged all staff to use the health camp. Dr.Sunilkumar D, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Dr.Anil S.Bilimale, Chief Warden JSSMC Hostel was also present at the event. Approximately 123 mess workers benefited from the health camp. The event was meticulously organized by Dr.Sunil Kumar D., Professor and Head; Dr.Shwethashree M, Assistant Professor; and Dr.Shweta N.Kurkuri, Senior Resident of the Department of Community Medicine. Their postgraduates, interns, and staff members were crucial in serving the participants and ensuring the event was a resounding success.
