An election is a way people can choose their candidate or their preferences in a representative democracy or other form of government. To support and sensitize this issue among the student fraternity, the NSS unit, JSS Medical College, Mysuru had organized a voting awareness programme for the students of JSS Medical College. The programme was conducted on 24th April 2024 between 10:30 AM- 11:20 AM in gallery 6, third-floor JSS Medical College, Mysuru. We had invited resource persons Ms. Amoolya Prasad and Ms. Anagha K. Bharadwaj students of BA, LLB course, JSS Law College, Mysuru. to deliver a lecture on the topic “Empowering tomorrow: The crucial role of youth voting in India’s 2024 elections” The speaker explicitly stressed the importance of voting as a responsible citizen of the country. They also clarified myths about voting, and the process of voting and unbiased election process to form a democratic government. At the end all the students were administered with the oath, to sensitize their responsibility as voting citizens of this country. We would like to thank Principal JSS Medical College, Dr.Basavana Gowdappa H, Vice Principal Dr.Suma M.N. (Pre clinical), and Vice Principal Dr.Praveen Kulkarni Vice Principal (Para clinical) JSS Medical College for their wholehearted support to conduct this event. The programme was attended by more than 250 medical students of JSS Medical College. The resource persons were felicitated by Dr.Vidya C.S. and Dr.Ravishankar M.V. by giving mementos and certificates. The programme was supported by NSS volunteers and NSS programme officers.
