We are happy to announce the launch of novel mobile app 'Antibiotica' by Department of Pharmacology, JSS Medical College. The launch event was chaired by Dr Suma M N, Vice Principal (Pre-Clinical), Dr Praveen Kulkarni, Vice Principal (Para-Clinical) and Mr. S R Sathish Chandra, Administrative Officer, JSS Medical College, Mysuru. The project is funded by ICMR for MD Research Thesis to Dr. Krishna Teja Dwibhashyam, MD Postgraduate. It was developed under the guidance of Dr. Prathima C, Associate Professor Department of Pharmacology, JSS Medical College and Dr. Vanishri Arun, Associate Professor, Department of Information Science & Engineering, SJCE, Mysuru. Dr Satish A.M, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, JSS Medical College, Mysuru alongside with other faculties and postgraduates of Pharmacology graced the event. Antibiotica is a quick bedside reference tool for clinicians, post-graduates and interns for prescribing antibiotics. It will help in overcoming knowledge gaps, misuse and overuse of antibacterial agents, promotes rationale prescription of antibiotics and minimize antimicrobial resistance (AMR) thereby reducing morbidity and mortality related to AMR. It is developed based on National Centre for Disease Control guidelines (NCDC) and offers information about various infections and recommended antibiotic therapy, prophylactic antibiotic therapy recommended for adult and paediatric surgical procedures and includes pertinent drug information.
