Graduates Reception for 2018-19 MBBS Batch students was held on 23rd March 2024, Saturday at JSS Medical Institutions campus, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru. There were 204 students who took their graduation certificates. The programme was held in the Divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. Padma Shri Dr.Shashank R Joshi, Senior Consultant Endocrinologist, Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, was the chief guest. Dr.B.Suresh, Pro-Chancellor & Dr.Surinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, JSSAHER, were the guests of honour. Dr.C.G.Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS MVP, presided over the function. The program started with an invocation by Ms.Srishti Dutta & Ms.Muktakshi Sonkar, students of JSS Medical College. A total of 204 new graduates received their graduation certificates on this occasion. Dr.H.Basavana Gowdappa, Principal, JSS Medical College, welcomed the gathering and congratulated young graduates who have successfully completed their undergraduate medical education and entered into the world of medical profession. He urged them to carry the legacy of the institution as proud ambassadors and serve the humanity with utmost passion and dedication. Dr.Divya Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry has been awarded Research Excellence Award for Highest Citations in the year 2023 Dr.Prasanna Kumar, Associate Professor of Biochemistry has been awarded the Prof. Y.T. Thathachari Endowment Prize for Best Research Paper in the year 2023. Address by the Chief Guest: Padma Shri Dr.Shashank.R.Joshi began his speech by congratulating the young graduates for successfully completing their undergraduate medical education. He mentioned that medicine is a noble profession and India produces large number of good quality doctors who serve the humanity across the world. He said that the doctors should be humble and should never discriminate the patients according to their ethnicity, caste, creed, or socio-economic status. Doctors should maintain confidentiality, should learn to communicate with the patients in their own language. He urged the doctors to develop capabilities to share their knowledge with others and grow professionally. Doctors should demonstrate utmost patience, time management skills, professionalism, and act as problem solvers on all challenging situations. He advised the doctors to involve in research activities of societal benefits this will help them to update their professional skills and research credentials. He appealed the graduates to maintain good lifestyle practices which enables them to lead a healthy and long life. He also appreciated the Theme of College Magazine – “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – Healing Humanity Beyond Borders”. He appreciated the efforts of all the teachers and the support extended by JSS AHER in importing quality medical education to the students of this institution. Dr.C.G.Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha released annual college magazine, SAMARTHYA. Dr.Suma M N, Vice Principal (Pre clinical), proposed the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem. The programme was followed by cultural event with blend of teachers & graduating students.
