NEMUS Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd. Industrial Visit

Thumb

On August 24, 2023, the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology organized an industrial visit to Nemus Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd. for I and II year M. Pharm students and Ph.D. scholars. During the visit, industry experts provided a comprehensive tour of the facility, explaining the entire process from the arrival of raw materials to the storage of packaging materials. Nemus Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd. consists of two units, both of which were visited. The raw materials entered the facility and were cross-checked against an ordered list. They were then transported via a lift to an isolated storage area, ensuring no contamination from foreign materials. Subsequently, samples were sent to the QC, QA, and microbiology departments for testing to determine batch pass or fail status. The company specializes in manufacturing various herbal products such as antifungal soaps, powders, hand rubs, and sanitizers. During the visit, students learned about the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for entering manufacturing units, including the importance of wearing proper shoe covers, face masks, and headgear to prevent foreign material contamination. Inside the manufacturing units, students observed the soap-making process in progress. Additionally, they visited the powder formation unit and witnessed the production process. The lotion unit was viewed from the outside, and students gained insight into the formation and distribution of DM water throughout the manufacturing facility, we also saw the packaging of soap. Overall, the visit provided valuable insights into the workings of the pharmaceutical industry's manufacturing unit and its procedures. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT We extend our gratitude to the Department of Pharmacognosy for affording us the valuable opportunity to witness and comprehend the industry's operations and its adherence to standard procedures (SOPs). Our heartfelt thanks go out to our Head of Department (HOD) for granting us permission to embark on this industry visit. Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation to Dr. N.
