The program's overall aim was to prepare junior-to-middle career scholars to serve as effective research mentors within a nurtured leadership network. The program built a cohort of research scientists from underrepresented minorities in India to serve as mentors, established programmatic infrastructure for mentoring and leadership skill development, and promoted the career advancement of research scientists from underrepresented minority communities. The program engaged 15 researchers from JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research who were from historically marginalized groups. Ms Preethi S, Lecturer, Department of Pharmaceutics, form JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru represented JSSCPM for the research leadership program. The program brought together faculty and staff from the Yale School of Public Health, the University of Arizona, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, and the Public Health Research Institute of India.
