The National Level Hands on Workshop on “Basic Principles of Medical Anthropometry”, held on 05-03-2024 in the Department of Anatomy, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, aimed to provide participants hands-on experience with anthropometric measurements. Initially Pre-test was conducted to assess baseline knowledge and proficiency levels in anthropometry concepts and measurement techniques. Inaugural function started with an invocation song by Ms.Sinchana Mahesh I year MBBS student and welcome Speech was delivered by Dr.Vidya C.S., Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries- Dr.Manjunatha B., Registrar, JSS AHER, Dr.Vina Ravi Vaswani, Dr.Suma M.N., Vice Principal (Pre-clinical), Dean Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Sri Satish Chandra S.R. Administrative Officer, JSSMC, Dr.Vidya C.S., Professor and Head, and Dr.Pushpalatha K. Professor of Anatomy, Dr.Vinutha S.P., Assistant Professor of Anatomy. Dr.Vina Ravi Vaswani delivered a keynote address with a brief introduction, highlighting her expertise and experience in the field of anthropometry. Dr.Suma M.N., Vice Principal, (Pre-clinical) JSSMC addressed the gathering and congratulated the department of Anatomy for organising Anthropometry workshop. Presidential address was delivered by Dr.Manjunatha B., Registrar JSS AHER and he felicitated resource persons Dr.Vina Ravi Vaswani, Dr.Muhammad Nasir Ahmad and Dr.Leena Pramod K. The inaugural function concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr.Vinutha S.P., Assistant Professor, Dr.Uma Shivanal, Senior Resident of Anatomy coordinated the inaugural session. The workshop provided participants with valuable insights and practical skills in conducting anthropometric assessments. By understanding the significance of anthropometry in various domains, participants gained a holistic perspective on its applications.
