JSS CARE 2024 CME ON Critical Care Advances Research and Education

In a significant stride towards advancing critical care knowledge, the Department of Critical Care Medicine, JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru, orchestrated its inaugural Continuing Medical Education (CME) on February 4th, 2024. The event unfolded at the SRC Auditorium, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, and served as a pivotal platform for delving into the latest breakthroughs in critical care.

Emphasizing the paramount importance of updating our knowledge base in the dynamic healthcare landscape, the CME, titled 'JSS CARE 2024 (Critical Care Advances Research & Education),' showcased a resolute commitment to staying at the forefront of research and education. Stagnation, in this ever-evolving field, is simply not an option, and the dedication to ongoing education becomes the linchpin propelling us forward.

Under the guidance of Dr.Akshay I/c HOD, the Department of Critical Care Medicine meticulously organized the CME. The organizing committee, including Dr. Shobharani, Dr. Abhilash, Dr. Shailaja, Dr. Ashwini, and the Fellowship students of the department, played a pivotal role in ensuring the event's success.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Dr. Suresh B, Pro Chancellor, JSS AHER, Mysuru, and presided over by Dr. Basavanagoudappa, Principal, JSS MC, Mysuru, added a distinguished touch to the occasion. Dr. Madhu C P, Medical Superintendent, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, and Sri S R Sathish Chandra, Administrative Officer, JSS MC, Mysuru, were esteemed guests of honor, further elevating the prestige of the event.

Eminent faculty members from various parts of the state shared their expertise during the CME, delivering lectures on a spectrum of critical care topics. The subjects ranged from extracorporeal therapies in sepsis, weaning failure, AI & emerging technologies in critical care, vasopressin administration in sepsis, interpretation of ABG, nutritional support in critical care, PCR-based diagnosis & MDR & XDR GNB in ICU, venous excess USG in ICU, to exploring the skin as an organ system during daily ICU rounds. This diverse array of topics ensured a comprehensive exploration of critical care advancements.

The scientific program culminated with Dr. Akshay presenting a report on 'Department of Critical Care Medicine AHER – A Year in Review,' providing a retrospective look at the department's achievements.

Around 200 delegates attended the programme. Delegates in attendance lauded the scientific content of CME program and expressed their appreciation for the well-organized and enriching event. The positive feedback underscores the success of the initiative in fostering knowledge enhancement and professional growth among the participants.

In essence, the Department of Critical Care Medicine's inaugural CME stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence, education, and the continuous pursuit of advancements in critical care.
