A guest lecture on the topic “Communication key to success with patients” was conducted at the Board room, JSS Dental College and Hospital, on 17th Jan 2024. The speaker was Dr. Sunil S. Chiplunkar, Vice President, Business Development, Group Pharmaceutical, Bangalore The guest was welcomed by Dr. Dhakshaini, Principal, and in the presence of Dr. Jai Shankar, Vice-Principal, JSS Dental College, and Hospital and was introduced by Dr Raghunath N, HOD, Orthodontics and Co-ordinator of the program Dr Chiplunkar elaborated on aspects of self-esteem and active listening skills, which are the key aspects of communication with patients. Communication with Synonym RESPECT (R- Rapport, E- Empathy, S- Support, P- Patience, E- Explanation, C- Cultural aspect, T- Trust) was introduced by him. The program was interactive with the active participation of Interns, Postgraduate students, and staff. The role play was also part of this lecture. Appreciation to the winners was distributed in the form of gift prizes from GROUP Pharmaceuticals.
