Radiology workshop conducted by JSS hospital Radiology department at JSSAHER Skill & Simulation Center. The Department of Radiodiagnosis, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, in collaboration with the EliteMed Care team, orchestrated an immersive workshop on Interventional Radiology Techniques on September 2nd, 2023. The event was led by renowned experts in the field: Dr. MC Uthappa, Consultant – Head of Interventional Radiology, Manipal Hospitals, Bengaluru, alongside Dr. Vijay TP from ClearMedi Radiant Hospital, Mysuru, and Dr. Sunil Kalmath from Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Bangalore. The seamless execution of this workshop owes credit to the diligent efforts of Dr. Vikram Patil and Dr. Sachin P Shetty, alongside the proactive involvement of postgraduate students Dr. Deepak Benny and Dr. Leena Garg The workshop catered to a diverse audience, including postgraduate students in Radiology and MBBS students from internship and final year batches, aiming to introduce them to key aspects of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Uthappa's compelling discourse highlighted the pivotal role of young medical practitioners in embracing Interventional Radiology. The workshop featured interactive sessions, including hands-on demonstrations covering the Seldinger technique, ultrasound-guided ablation, and various vascular interventions such as angiograms, angioplasty, stenting, and embolization. These practical exercises provided invaluable experience to all participants. Hands-on stations demonstrated radiofrequency ablation techniques using liver models and practical exercises in ultrasound-guided target practice, providing invaluable experience to all participants. The workshop was met with resounding appreciation from all participants. The blend of theoretical insights, practical demonstrations, and the invaluable guidance from esteemed experts significantly enriched the knowledge and skill sets of the attendees. The event left a lasting impact on the participants, empowering them with advanced techniques in Interventional Radiology standing as a testament to the commitment of JSS Medical College towards fostering continuous learning and skill development among medical professionals.
