Global Health Leadership Initiative- In person workshop – 8th to 11th January 2024 The Yale School of Public Health in collaboration with the University of Arizona, the Public Health Research Institute of India, and the School of Public Health from the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru is conducting the Global Health Leadership Initiative, which is a 3-month hybrid certificate-level capacity-building course on “Building Mentorship and Leadership Capacity among Scholars from Historically Underrepresented Groups”. Fifteen participants were selected from JSS AHER after considering their underrepresented status. The program’s specific aims are to build a cohort of research scientists from underrepresented minorities in India to serve as mentors, establish programmatic infrastructure for mentoring and leadership skills development, and promote the career advancement of research scientists from underrepresented minority communities. This initiative aims to bridge the gap, empower researchers, and foster a more equitable landscape in global health research. The program will be delivered through two 4-day in person workshops and one virtual workshop over 3 months at the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research in India. The course consists of two in-person workshops and online sessions. The first in-person workshop was conducted at the JSS Medical College, JSS AHER, Mysuru from January 8 to 11, 2024.
