SAMAGAMA 2023, the 6th Global Alumni meet of JSS Medical College was organised by JSS Medical College Alumni Association on 2nd December 2023 at 4.00 pm at Sri Rajendra Auditorium of JSS Medical College.

The event started with registration and high tea followed by the program. Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha was the Chief guest of the program. Dr Surinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, JSS AHER; Dr H Basavanagowdappa, Principal, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER were the guests of honour. Dr. V. Mallikarjuna, President, JSSMC Alumni Association presided over the function. Dr. A.M. Satish, Secretary, JSSMC Alumni association, Dr. B.P. Manjula, Vice President, JSSMC Alumni association and Mr. S.R. Satish Chandra, Administrative officer, JSS Medical College were the dignitaries.

The event started with the invocation by Dr Preethi Prakash Prabhu and Welcome speech by Dr Sathish AM, Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology and Secretary of JSSMC Alumni Association. This was followed by inauguration of the program by lighting the lamp.

The Chief Guest of the event Dr. C.G. Betsurmath spoke about the journey of JSSMC and JSSAHER since its inception, he also emphasised the importance of organising this kind of event in fostering the relationship between the alumni and their alma mater.

Twelve alumni were felicitated with distinguished alumni achiever awards for their contribution to the society and their accomplishments in their lives. The below mentioned alumni were felicitated by the dignitaries. They were presented with customised mementos with their citations.

Preceding this the guest of honour Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice- Chancellor, JSS AHER recalled his memories as a MBBS student at Jammu Medical college and congratulated the organising committee for organising the meaningful alumni meet. Dr. H. Basavana Gowdappa, Principal, JSS Medical College, spoke on the importance of Alumni meet and recalled his fond memories with the alumni present.

Dr. Sanjeev Bhoi & Dr. Jessy D’souza , the distinguished alumni achiever awardees spoke about their memories at JSS Medical College, Dr. V. Mallikarjuna delivered the presidential address, he mentioned the activities carried out by the JSSMC alumni association in the last four years.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr B.P. Manjula, Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, JSS Medical College and Vice-president of JSSMC Alumni Association.

The event was compered by Dr Smitha M C, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, JSS Medical College and Dr Archana, Assistant Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, JSS Hospital. The program was coordinated by Dr. A.M . Satish , Secretary , JSSMC Alumni association and Dr. Shivaprakash S, Treasurer , JSS Alumni association. The event was followed by a cultural night organized at Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Sports Club, Mysuru at 7 pm. Fashion show, karaoke singing, and dance performance were given by the alumni. Around 400 alumni attended the event. The program was well received by the alumni attending the alumni meet from various corners of the globe.
