The My City Governance Conclave 2023 was organized by the School of Public Health, JSS Medical College in collaboration with GRAAM (Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement), PRIA (Participatory Research in Asia), and HSF (Hanns Seidal Foundation) where fellows of Youth for Governance fellowship represented their research findings on civic issues. It started with the inauguration in the presence of the Guests and Dignitaries Dr Basavana Gowdappa, Principal, JSS MC, Mr Arjun Ranga, Managing Partner, NR Groups of Companies, Mr Srihari Dwarakanath, Founder and MD, GSS Projects, Dr Kaustav K B, Director, PRIA, Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta, Executive Director GRAAM, Dr Anil S Bilimale Chief MPH Coordinator. It was an insightful event, bringing together young leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss innovative approaches to governance. Topics included were citizen’s participation in governance, assessment schemes of social welfare services, mental health status & health-seeking behaviour among people of the urban slums of Mysore and assessment of Anganwadi services. Over 200 Delegates participated & gained insights into Participatory governance, emphasizing the importance of citizens in governance. With diverse perspectives, the event served as a catalyst for shaping future policies contributing to the collective effort of building resilient and vibrant cities
