JSSCP, Ooty - The Dept of Pharmacy Practice jointly with IPA Nilgiris Local Branch, organized a CSIR sponsored 'Cervical Cancer Screening Awareness Workshop' in Sokkanalli tribal village, The Nilgiris on Nov 24, 2023 to raise awareness about cervical cancer among tribal women in tea gardens by addressing causes and emphasizing the importance of regular screenings.

About 75 tribal women participated. Resource persons covered key topics such as prevalence rates, risk factors and significance of screening.

Health assessments viz., random blood sugar, BP and BMI measurements were conducted.

Thanks to Dr. M. Deepalakshmi, Associate Professor for getting CSIR grant and coordinating the program with active involvement of healthcare professionals and IV Pharm D students.
