The industrial visit was organized on 04-11-2023 for one day at Ganesh Eucalyptus oil distillery, Ooty, which is a prominent player in oil distillation for natural oils. The company was established in the year 1957 for manufacturing eucalyptus oil in Nilgiris. In 1987 the company started manufacturing essential oils such as eucalyptus oil, citriodora oil, geranium oil, citronella oil, palmarosa oil, lemon grass oil and expanded its services all over the India and exported its services to Europe countries. Towards its long service and quantum of supply the company has started manufacturing unit at SIDCO Industrial Estate, Indu Nagar, Ooty at 2003. The purpose of the visit was to provide UG students (Practical School of IV B. Pharm) with a practical understanding of Gas chromatographic operations, processes and technologies employed in the industry. About 12 UG students visited the company and had the opportunity to witness the company's production process firsthand. It was fascinating to see the various stages involved, from raw material quality control to the final product quality control. They observed the efficient use of automation and robotics, which contributed to increased productivity and precision. The companies emphasized the importance of quality control at every step, ensuring Gas chromatography report operation to meet the rigorous standards. The team showcased ongoing projects and explained how they perform oil estimation in gas chromatography and tool to determine adulteration. Mr. Loganathan, CEO of the company have demonstrated the operation of the gas chromatography and given hands on training to the UG students. Witnessing their cutting-edge technologies and dedication to continuous improvement left a lasting impression. This visit served as a bridge between theoritical knowledge and practical implementation, reinforcing for understanding of the industry and inspiring them for future career endeavours.
