The MUN provides all the delegates with an opportunity to address current affairs and crucial matters. This year two committees were formed the United Nations Human Rights Council and Joint Crisis Committee.

The UNHRC has convened to discuss the importance of global mass surveillance with a special emphasis on the right to privacy, whilst the Joint Crisis committee will delve into the past and discuss the need for military escalation during the time of the cold war.

The aim of JSSMCMUN is to engage all the delegates in building stimulated International Relations and to make sure that the delegates leave the committees as future international diplomats.

Committee specific updates.

Joint crisis committee- building relationships in the era of Cold War. The dynamic crisis committee based in the volatile cold war era works toward betterment of global relationships and better management of global resources.

The committee started with a general speakers list where each and every country defined their own stands and allegiances in the respective bloc. The first challenge faced by them was deployment of missiles in Cuba that led to almost war between the two blocs. But, due to extensive deliberation they came to middle ground and were able to avoid all types of blood shed in an intense joint session.

The eastern bloc faced their own crisis in form of COMECON fund withdrawal in favour of the Russian lunar space race and at the other end the Western bloc its own crisis as a privacy invasion in the name of international peace and security.

United Nations Human Rights Council.

In the committee we saw superpowers supporting the notion of mass surveillance in support of national security and lower economic countries were targeted due to their disadvantage. All the delegates and the Executive Board had a detailed discussion about the use of surveillance by the government to spy on their citizens in the name of security. Later a shocking revelation came to light that there is a shadow organisation that works towards global mass and gross privacy violation and the solution for the crisis was discussed in detail.
