Sutturujatramahotsava was held between 18th January to 23rd January 2023 at Sutturu. It was a perfect amalgamation of divinity, education, and culture. In view of creating health awareness, it is our practice to have stalls from the JSS Medical college. This year from the anatomy department we had showcased the fetuses of different anomalies. In order to enrich the knowledge of the human body, we included a dissected body exhibiting different parts. The highlight of this year exhibition from the anatomy department was an innovative “dancing skeleton” or Skeleton Orchestra Band where the skeleton was made to move with the music. This way we could attract more crowd and enlighten about the different bones of the body. We also displayed the model showing the working of body donation program. The visiting folks were enlightened about the need of body donation and were inspired to register for the same. Other attractions include DNA and karyotyping model. The efforts of department were much appreciated which was evident by the overwhelming response and feedback by the visitors.

• We had displayed several specimens of congenital/birth anomalies that were synchronized with the models of chromosomes and DNA by its side by side. It had a great impact on the common man’s understanding of chromosomes and birth defects in newborn infants. • The “Skeleton Orchestra Band” was a unique attraction for the public of all age groups where the original human skeletons were moulded in the form of orchestra artists performing with the music. In fact, it was a prominent highlight of our display among various models. • We have used a complete human body for “Window Dissections “where the different regions of the trunk were precisely cut and opened and a particular organ in that region like the Heart, Liver, Spleen, Stomach, and Intestine along with the Appendix was exposed to draw the attention of the public about the organization of the different internal structures in the human body. • More than 10,000 visitors had visited the stall. We have collected feedback often from the various category of visitors to the “Anatomy Exhibition Stall” including large number of students, and their teachers, homemakers, farmers, and visitors of other professional background, who have expressed keen interest and amusement created by various original models, dissected human cadaver, artificially acting musical skeleton band, etc. • “JSS Body Donation Association Model” was another very much interesting model which attracted many elders, who voluntarily pursued the matter and discussed the body and eye donation protocol and its merits and demerits. They have shown keen inclination toward eye and body donation. Feedback from staff, students and public • The dense gathering and expression of interest by large student fraternity and their expression of inspiration to become doctors in the future were witnessing the overall impression of Anatomy exhibition models. • The whole program starting from its planning, initiation, material collection, and Execution till the end was meticulously steered by our faculty who made several visits to rectify minor shortcomings during the whole event to create a grand success of the event.
