A Two days workshop and Hands-on Training on “Design of Experiments” was held at JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, on 10 and 11th Feb 2023. The Workshop was inaugurated by the Guest of Honor, Mr Shashi Sharma, Multicure Hyderabad. Dr Karri V V S Narayana Reddy, Organising secretary, and Dr. K. Gowthamarajan, Convener, addressed the participants and explained the importance of the Design of Experiments and applications in the drug development process. The work has skilled trainers from reputed institutes. Dr Kannan A, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT, Madras, trained the participants on Factorial designs and Response surface designs with case studies. Dr Muralidhara A has explained and given training on Custom and mixture designs using JMP software. Mr Kiran from Systat exhibited the software demo. The Workshop has 58 registered delegates from various colleges across the country, i.e., Madras Medical College, Chennai; Chalapathi institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra Pradesh; East-west college of pharmacy, Karnataka; KMCH College of Pharmacy, Tamilnadu; Senghundhar College of Pharmacy, Tamilnadu; Srinivasan College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tamilnadu; St John’s Pharmacy College; JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty and Mysuru. During the valedictory function, Dr.S.P. Dhanabal, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, addressed the gathering and emphasized the Design of Experiments and the importance of this Workshop. He also further mentioned that it is a value-added program for the students to upgrade their knowledge in the Pharmaceutics and Drug development field. The Workshop is concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Karri V V S Narayana Reddy.
