Walkathon was organised by the School of Public Health in association with the Dept of Gastroenterology, JSS MC and Hospital, JSS AHER to create awareness about Non Alcoholic Steatohepatitis/ Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NASH/ NAFLD). It is recognised worldwide as International NASH Day and Govt of India has recently included this disease under the National Programme for Non Communicable Diseases.

The Walkathon was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra K V, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Mysuru along with Dr C G Betsurmath, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Dr Vishal Kumar Gupta, Dean Academics, Dr H Basavanagowdappa, Principal JSS Medical College, Dr Usha Hegde, Prof and HOD, Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Sri S R Satish Chandra, Administrative Officer and the organizing committee members Dr Anil Bilimale, Dr Deepak Suvarna, Dr Nandeesh. B, Dr (Maj) Aaradhya H V, Dr Divya K L

Around 300 participants including national and international students, senior persons, women, children and faculties took part in the event.

The event partners were INASL, Hetero Pharma, NATCO, SUN PHARMA, CULT FIT and Bulls of Mysuru.
