The theme of the seminar was the overuse of antibiotics and the adverse effects it causes. Dr Sumana M N, Professor, Department of Microbiology from JSS Medical College, JSS AHER was the speaker at the event. The seminar was in hybrid mode at 11 A.M. on the 26th of April 2023. Prof K A Raveesha, Dean, Faculty of Life Science, JSS AHER and the faculties and students of the Department of Microbiology, JSS AHER witnessed the event offline (170 participants). About 150 participants – (faculties, research scholars and students) joined online. The terms antibiotics, antifungal, antiviral and antiprotozoal were defined and differences were explained. The myths about antibiotics, misuse of antibiotics, and the adverse effects of antibiotics were explained.
