As part of the World Health Day the Department of Pharmacy Practice of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru in association with NSS Unit organized a street play on the theme “Prevention of Social Evils” at the college quadrangle on 12 - 04 - 2023 from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM. The play was witnessed by the Vice Principal, Administrative Officer, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff and students of the College. The street play was part of the World Health Day celebrations that fell on 7th April this year. The theme for this World Health Day is ‘Health for All’ and is part of the WHO Sustainable Development Goals No 3 - Good Health and Well Being. The play was performed by the students of IIIrd Year B Pharm. on the role of parents and teachers in the development of a child. The importance of academic growth as well as social and emotional development was depicted. Through the different enacted scenes, the play showed that enabling a collective decision by including a child’s participation rather than imposing the decision on the child provides better end-results. Focusing on the positives of a child and motivational awards for good behaviour or achievements can foster a conducive environment for the growth of the child and also improve self-esteem, which is a step towards preventing mental disorders.
