JSS AHER had taken an initiative for planting saplings and adoption of 107 plants across JSS AHER campuses in commemoration of Celebration of 107th Jayanthi Mahothsava of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji on 07.09.2022 the founder father of JSS Mahavidyapeetha – a parent organisation of JSSAHER. Dr. B Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS AHER welcomed the gathering. Dr. C G Betsurmath, Executive Secretary Presided and Dr. B Suresh, Pro-Chancellor, JSS AHER & Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, JSS AHER were the Guests of Honor. Dr. C Naganna, the Chief Guest inaugurated the programme by watering the plant and the same has been planted in the JSS AHER Campus. In this connection volunteers were welcomed to plant saplings and adopt them for a period of three years. Volunteers registered through online form in the JSSAHER Website: www.jssuni.edu.in and planted the 107 saplings of 15 varieties across its campuses. Dr. C Naganna summarized the life of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji with real life examples. He mentioned that His Holiness Mahaswamiji served society for wellbeing of the humanity selflessly. 5 distinguished alumni of JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College & Hospital and JSS College of Pharmacy of JSS AHER who have extended their dedicated and exemplary services to the society were felicitated in the programme. The alumni symbolically watered the plants in support of Green & Sustainable initiative of JSS AHER. On the lines of SDG – 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16. To support the sustainable practice and as a token of respect and gratitude the stakeholders contributed by way of: - 1) The staff and students of JSS AHER planted 107 saplings and adopted them for 3 years. An e – certificate was issued to them. 2) 100 no’s of saplings were distributed free of cost by the Forest Department, Govt., of Karnataka through the Director Horticulture, JSSMVP, Mysuru. 3) 100 no’s of fabricated tree-guards were given freely by M/s. Raghulal Medicals, Mysuru (which would cost around Rs. 2.14 lakhs = 100 no’s x Rs. 2,000/- per guard). 4) M/s. Rasme Consultancy, Bangalore have voluntarily borne the other incidental expenditure viz., towards transportation, rigging holes / providing pits, labour charges signages etc., to the tune of Rs. 28,364/- 5) The gardening team, staff and NSS volunteers of JSS AHER supported the plantation activity.
