Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, and Department of Microbiology, JSS Medical College, Mysuru jointly organized an “Awareness program on Antimicrobial resistance” on 2nd to 6th December 2022. The awareness program was organized with the aim to provide in-depth insight about antimicrobial resistance. The outreach program was conducted in Gumballi, Thithimathi, and Srimangala villages of Chamarajnagar & Coorg district. Dr. Rosy Raju, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mr . Yogeesh M, Research Scholar, Department of Microbiology, JSS Medical College, Mysuru and Dr. Aishwarya Anand, Project Manager, Pfizer- AMS Project conducted the Outreach awareness program for Community health workers and the general public under the guidance of Dr. Srikanth M.S, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru and Dr. M.N Sumana, Professor, Department of Microbiology, JSS Medical College, Mysuru. Awareness about Antimicrobial Resistance was provided to the village members through Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committee meetings of Y.K mole, B.R Hills, Komaranpura, and Kurchi Subcentres of Gumballi, Thithimathi, and Srimangala Primary Health Centres (PHC). Sensitized the School teachers and Anganwadi workers near Gumballi and Srimangala PHC about the cause, spread, consequences, and prevention of Antimicrobial resistance. Awareness about Antimicrobial Resistance was also provided to Auxillary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Health Inspecting Officers (HIO), Community Health Officers (CHO) and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) working under Gumballi, Thithimathi, and Srimangala PHCs.
