Department of Community Medicine, JSS Medical College, Mysuru in collaboration with Department of Studies in Food science and nutrition, University of Mysore, Mysuru and Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, School of life sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru organized one day Pre conference workshop on Nutritional Assessment in National conference, MY NUTRICON 2022 on 7th December 2022.

Pre- conference workshop was formally started at 9:30 AM. Dignitaries, Speakers and Participants were welcomed by Joint Organizing Secretary, Dr. Vanitha Reddy, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, School of life sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru. Workshop was inaugurated by the Chief guest Dr Ragavendra P, Scientist C, ICMR- NIN, Hyderabad, the Guest of Honor Dr M N Suma, Vice Principal (Pre Clinical), JSS MC, Organizing Chairperson Dr. Sunil Kumar D, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, JSS MC and Organizing Secretary Dr. Praveen Kulkarni, Vice Principal (Para Clinical) and Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, JSS MC. Inauguration was concluded by giving vote of thanks by Dr.Mythily MR, Joint Organizing Secretary and Senior Resident, department of Community Medicine, JSS MC, Mysuru.

The session started with the introduction of the participants and 1st topic of the session was Nutritional assessment: Introduction, Methods, Interpretation, Application at Community by Dr Ragavendra P, Scientist C, ICMR- NIN, Hyderabad.

The next session was on nutritional assessments and BCA- Basic and Data Interpretation by Dr Sushma Appaiah, Founder Director Golz Nutrition and Diet Solutions, Certified Nutrigenomics Expert, Convener Indian Dietetics Association (IDA), Mysuru.

Hands-on sessions were conducted in the afternoon where Anthropometry in Under five children and another session using Anthropac Software for anthropometry data was taken by Dr.Rghavendra P. The hands-on session on BCA and its applications in health and disease management by was taken by Dr. Sushma Appaiah.

Around 42 participants had enrolled for the pre- conference workshop.

Valedictory sessions begun by welcoming the chief guest Dr Madhu B, Deputy Director Research and Professor, Department of Community Medicine, JSS MC, Speakers and Organizing Secretary Dr Praveen Kulkarni , Vice Principal and Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, JSS MC, and Joint Organizing Secretary Dr Mythily MR, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine, JSS MC, Mysuru.

The pre-conference workshop was concluded by giving token our gratitude to the speakers , taking feedback from the participants and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Mythily, joint organizing secretary of the pre conference workshop.

Overall the pre- conference workshop was a grand success.
