World AIDS Day; 01/12/2022 at JSS Urban health centre, Bamboo bazaar, Mysuru. As part of the World AIDS day, Department of Community Medicine and JSS Urban primary health centre, Bamboo bazaar conducted awareness to the people who came to the UHC. The awareness was done in the IEC room of the UHC. It was held as small group discussions, and 2 such sessions were held. The head sister, medical social worker and doctor addressed the gathering. The awareness was on the following topics. Sources and transmission of AIDS infection, risk factors, prevention methods and the local treatment centres for the AIDS in Mysuru. There was information regarding acceptance of people with HIV and how they can be useful to the society.

After the discussion, a short five minute video was played on the awareness and prevention of AIDS. It was played in kannada language. After that a few queries by the people were answered.
