Two days national symposium on “Translation Research and Future Pharmaceuticals” was inaugurated on 4th November 2022. The inaugural session was initiated by tamil thai valthu followed by invocation song and lighting of lamp by chief guest and guest of honors. The Principal Dr. S. P Dhanabal welcomed the chief guest Prof. K Chinnaswamy, Professor emeritus and guest of honors from JSSAHER, Medopharm Pvt. Ltd. and Lovely Professional University. Genesis of conference was delivered by Dr. K Gowthamarajan, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutics. Dr. Monica Gulati addressed the gathering about the research collaboration between JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty and Lovely Professional University, Punjab, which was followed by speech delivered by Mr. Sabapathy R, Chief officer, Medopharm pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Madhusudan N Purohit, Deputy controller of examination, JSSAHER, Mysuru, emphasizing the importance of translation research to young minds. Chief guest addressed to the delegates about recent trends in future pharmaceuticals and importance of translation research from lab to industry. The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sachin Kumar Singh, Professor, School of Pharmaceutical sciences, Lovely Professional University.

The scientific sessions commenced by the eminent speakers from government, industrial and academic sectors i.e., CSIR-CRLI, Indian Patent Office & IIT Madras. Speakers have delivered the recent research topics of future pharmaceutics such as nanotechnology, translation of research from lab to commercialization, future and personalized medicine, industry- academia gap and intellectual property rights etc. Side by side, demo 3D printing and virtual reality along with their use in the field of medicine was demonstrated by different companies. Finally, certificates were awarded to the “Best e-posters”. The symposium was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr.D.Nagasamy Venkatesh.
