Creativity and innovation, at both the individual and group levels, have become the true wealth of nations in the 21st century. An Invited guest lecture on traditional medicine and its advance research towards Molecure to Final Product was organized by TIFAC CORE in Herbal Drugs in collaboration with IIIC, JSSCPO on 08.10.2022 from 9.15 am to 10.45 am in board room. The Invited guest lecture was conducted for staffs and students of PG and research scholar of Pharmacognosy Department. Dr.Subarna Roy, Scientist & Director of National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Belagavi (ICMR) and additional charge for Model Rural Health Research unit (MRHRU), Department of Health Research (Government of India) was invited as the resource. The event started with welcome address by Dr.R.Shanmugam, Coordinator, TIFAC CORE in Herbal Drug, JSS College of Pharmacy followed by the highlight of Department of Pharmacognosy by Dr.K.Shanker, HOD (I/C) of Department of Pharmacognosy, JSSCPO. The session was initiated with 1 hour presentation on Traditional medicine, where the resource person cover on the selection of the herbal plants, identification concept, molecular docking, standardization technique, number of data base available, Big data, Bioinformatic and selection of plants on the disease base and followed by different type of grant and fellowship available in the ICMR. The resource person also highlighted the activities done the different ICMR department and possibility of rendering there lab services facilities. After completion of the presentation the session was opened for discussion. The session was very interactive and students participated enthusiastically. The event ended with the interaction session and students feedback. The delegates were immensely benefitted and thanked for successful completion of the event.
